A strong, operationally-ready force needed for a safe and secure Singapore

In Parliament on 11 February 2019, Member of Parliament Pritam Singh spoke about balancing operational readiness and safety in National Service.

While he supports the recent safety review, he said it must not lead to a public perception that SAF has gone soft, or in its extreme, compromise realistic training.

Noting the geopolitical landscape we live in, he said that the need for a strong, operationally-ready deterrent force, underpinned by National Service, becomes clear.
